~Your bargain finds~
Mission nearly impossible!
You can't quite beat the feeling of finding a knockout bargain. I'm still looking
for that rare Corkscrew at a bargain price, but I'm sure, one day, It will happen
- probably, when I least expect it to.

Let me know what your best ever bargain find was. If possible, attach a
photograph & I'll put your story on this page.
Ferd Peters - Holland
"Over the years, I was often lucky. I realized years later, how good some of my
finds were in the past. I bought, for example a marked Henshall (the real
Obstando one) for £70.00 and the dealer was wondering why I took that one,
and not the decorative one with a brass button".
Josef L'Africain - Chicago, USA
"I couldn't believe my eyes, was I dreaming? In front of
me was the Jewell in the crown of Syroco - the rare,
highly sort after Golden Knight. It appeared one evening
on Ebay at an amazing buy it now price of $40.00.
Fortunately for me, I was the first to view the auction that
actually knew what it was. My heart raced & my fingers
fumbled, as I hurried to complete the purchase.
Unbelievably, I found another Golden knight on Ebay, for
a similar price a few month later".

Great finds Josef! For interest - the Syroco Golden
Knight has a market value of around $2500 - that is just
so amazing!!
Peter Borrett - Reading, UK
"During one of my frequent visits to Newark antique
fair. I was fortunate enough to find this wonderful
steel picnic Corkscrew with locking mechanism. It
dates to around the late 18th century and at £5.00,
was a fantastic buy"
DAVID ZALAZNIK - TEXAS, USA
One day at an antique store in Austin
Texas I found four different "The Tangent
Lever".  Prices ranging from $80 to $100
each.  I ended up buying one for about
$80.  It is definetly one of our best 6.

Chris Bristow - New York, USA
"I found this Eduard Muller Bell Corkscrew at the bottom
of a box at a flea market, during my travels in Europe. I
nearly passed out when I enquired the price, 10 Euros -
replied the vendor, around $11.00. Needless to say I
passed over the money very quickly & danced down the
street in celebration".

Great story Chris - I managed to pay around $200 for the
same Corkscrew, no wonder you danced down the street.
FRED KINCAID - USA

a few bargain finds - one of the

It's twin just sold this week on

Thanks Fred, you've just made
the Syroco hunters green with
envy!
